M.A.C. and Home

Hey men's team!

  First off I want to say how amazing every one's hard work has been in getting the department into such good shape and how grateful Seth and myself are for everyone stepping up. While we still have a lot of room to improve in some areas (back-stock cleanliness, markdown completion, etc.) our overall standards and presentation have gotten much better in recent weeks and our numbers are reflecting it! Secondly the great results we've seen in men's need to be applied to the other two department we have to oversee; M.A.C. and Home.

M.A.C. -

  We've been up the last two weeks in this area guys but keep in mind we've also had that amazing shoe sale going on to help us out. The thing I think we really need to focus on here is making sure we're moving product out from the back onto the sales floor; we've clearly got good merch but its not doing us any good sitting in the back room. Making sure we've got all our sunglasses, socks, underwear and hats are out is really going to be a key factor in keeping the numbers up as we take the sale shoes off promotion. Hand in hand with that though we need to also keep and eye on the standards for those areas too. It doesn't take much to make the underwear look really shabby or for the hats to all of a sudden be out of order but it also doesn't take but a few minutes to fix those areas as all. Last but not least we need to make sure the shoes are all being displayed and organized; going forward this is going to be a huge priority for us.

HOME - 

  Hopefully this isn't coming as any big surprise to anyone but this is a MAJOR area of improvement for us. In the next few days we'll have a new plan in place for any men's openers to follow but in a nut shell its going to come down to this; If your a men's opener on a shipment day your top priority is going to  be getting all of the Home product out of boxes and setup in the department ASAP, then while your doing that your going to be taking a look at the floor to see what can be refilled from back-stock. Seth and myself are going to be making some major changes in the Home areas of the store to try and shake some things up and see what works best for us but we're going to need everyone to help on this. On Sunday we made a major move with the cameras and books upstairs and in the next few days we'll be taking a look at the downstairs areas as well... What we need from you guys though are some ideas and suggestions.

  In short guys we've done some pretty amazing things with Men's and now its time to keep those standards high but start taking that hard work and applying it too M.A.C. and Home on a daily basis. Making sure the product is filled on the floor is the first step, keeping the standards high is the second and now its time to start thinking outside the box on how we can better showcase what we've got too our customers.
